Teenie and Teal is striving to meet it's goals ever day. One of those goals that I've been working towards achieving is reaching an audience in the Twin Cities. We accomplished that goal by being accepted as a Maker in the Minneapolis Craft Market. This market stuck out to me in several ways. Besides the obvious that it's in Minneapolis, their vision is a huge pull for me.
"Minneapolis Craft Market is a community social hub, and an incubator for the arts. We believe the Twin Cities has a unique culture of creativity, and our goal is to provide a regular venue for both emerging and established makers to sell their work. Our market is based on the London street market concept, which is held rain or shine (or snow!). We know Northerners are hardy, so grab a drink, wear your best hand-knitted scarf or sun hat, and join us for a festive outdoor market!" Their whole vibe radiates relax, grab a drink and take a stroll, all while being temporarily projected to the streets of London. Then you add in their Holiday Markets and BOOM, you're smack dab in the middle of a Christmas Hallmark movie. I mean, I don't know about you, but HEAVEN is the word that comes to mind. Then again, I'm not completely over the snow and cold like most of the Mid-Western's out here. I digress.
Not only is this market an award winning market, it also does its part in giving back. Minneapolis Craft Market donates 5% of annual profits to Minnesota-based nonprofit arts organizations as well as offering scholarships to be apart of the market for students currently enrolled in art and design courses.
Stay tuned to see what dates Teenie and Teal finally makes their appearance at the market! In the meantime, go take a trip to the cities and check it out for yourself.
